David Gale was born in Derby in 1959. He spent much of his early years in Thurso, Caithness before returning to Derby in the Seventies. He was educated at The Grammar School, Ashby de la Zouch, Britannia Royal Naval College – Dartmouth, and the University of Derby (Law School). He spent two years as a police officer with Nottinghamshire Constabulary, resigning after pressure was persistently applied by senior officers to falsify statements and records.
In the Eighties, David was trained by IBM as a business analyst, later becoming an account director with responsibility for blue-chip manufacturing companies and a number of local constabularies. He founded his own company in 1996 of which he is still a director. He has delivered IT and business transformation strategies and projects saving many millions of pounds in both the public and private sectors (manufacturing, financial services, utilities) and has a number of internationally referenced case studies. His work on customer-centric service delivery was personally referenced by Bill Gates.
David has been retained by a number of global corporations as an Enterprise Architect and has been a regular lead presenter on the European IT seminar and conference tour. His work in delivering service improvement and business efficiency has included briefing ministers and senior civil servants from over a dozen national governments including: UK, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, South Africa, and the People’s Republic of China.
David also has over 20 years in professional motorsport as a championship winning competitor, race engineer, designer and team owner. He was a ‘Top Gun’ racing instructor at Donington Park’s Superbike Racing School for six years, has worked as a development test rider for a major racing tyre manufacturer, and a grand prix motorcycle development rider for eight years. Because of his involvement in professional sport, David is a keen advocate of physical fitness and still works-out four or five times a week.
